Tired of corporate jargon?

Jargon in.
Plain English out.

It’s not you — it’s the wording.

Workplace policy

Employees are expected to leverage cross-functional alignment to operationalise strategic deliverables within agreed SLAs.

In plain words

Work with the other teams to get the agreed work done on time.

VERIDIC puts the policy, spec, notice, contract or form you’re on into the everyday English you actually use — quoted word for word, with every deadline and every cost pulled out.

A sample agreement, for illustration. VERIDIC restates wording — it doesn’t rate documents or give advice.

§1 — The problem

Important documents get read skimmed.

91%

of people accept terms and conditions without reading them. Among 18–34 year-olds it’s 97%.1

76

work days a year — what it would take to read every privacy policy you meet online.2

$205

a year, on average, spent on subscriptions people forgot to cancel.3

  1. Deloitte survey of 2,000 US consumers, 2017.
  2. A. McDonald & L. F. Cranor, “The Cost of Reading Privacy Policies”, Carnegie Mellon University, 2008.
  3. CNET survey conducted by YouGov, April 2025.

§2 — How it reads

It works on the page you’re already on.

01

Select what you had to read twice.

On any web page — or in a PDF or Word file you drop in, opened on your own computer. The VERIDIC button appears beside your selection.

02

Read it in everyday words.

In your own language — any of 16 — with the jargon defined. It restates the document; it never rates it or tells you what to do.

03

Check it against the original.

Every explanation quotes the exact words it came from, and the quote is checked against the page before you see it. If it isn’t really there, it isn’t shown.

04

Keep the date that matters.

Deadlines the document states go straight to your list. A date it never gave is left for you to fill in — VERIDIC doesn’t guess.

§3 — After you read New

The document keeps going after you’ve read it. So does VERIDIC.

A document’s most expensive moments often come weeks later — a renewal, a deadline, a quiet rewrite. These four features are there for them — all kept on your device.

Day 3

Job-offer reading

The offer letter, laid out before you accept.

Pay, start date, probation, notice and money you might owe back — each quoted — plus what the letter doesn’t mention at all.

Pay₦6,000,000 a year, monthly
ProbationSix months
Pay backTraining cost, if you leave within 12 months

Not mentioned: Leave Benefits Restrictions

Day 45

Deadlines & renewals

The cancel window, before it closes.

Every date from what you’ve read, plus renewals you add yourself. Grouped by what’s due; monthly and yearly renewals roll forward when you handle them.

Every Monday

Weekly digest

One read that covers your whole week.

What falls due, what’s coming, and which documents you rely on were quietly rewritten. Built on your device; email it to yourself in one click.

Day 90

Compare two versions

“Same terms as before” — check it in seconds.

Paste or load both versions. See every sentence reworded, added, removed or moved, with changed figures called out. Runs in your browser.

Annual rent is ₦3,500,000 ₦4,200,000.

End the tenancy with one month’s three months’ notice.

§4 — Who it’s for

Everyone gets handed something dense to act on.

Turn a card over to see what VERIDIC tells each of them.

  • Whole-page reading
  • PDF & Word files
  • Watched documents
  • Calendar export
  • Printable reports
  • Read aloud & dictation
  • On-device AI where available
  • Always says which engine answered

§4a — Where your documents go

Nowhere they shouldn’t.

  • On-device where Chrome allows. The reading happens on your machine, sends nothing, and works offline.
  • Files never leave. PDFs and Word documents are opened in your browser; only the text you ask about is read.
  • Your lists stay yours. Deadlines, the digest, watched pages and comparisons live in your browser only.
  • No key to steal. The extension holds no model key; the instructions live on the server.

§5 — Passes

Free every day. Buy a pass when you need more.

A pass is one payment that simply ends. No subscription, no stored card — nothing to forget to cancel. (we read our own fine print)

§6 — Frequently asked

Questions, answered in plain words.

6.1 Is this legal, financial or tax advice?

No. VERIDIC restates what a document says and quotes the original. It doesn’t tell you whether to sign, what to enter, or whether a term is fair. For a decision with real money or rights at stake, take it to a professional.

6.2 Does my document leave my computer?

Files are opened in your browser and never uploaded. Where Chrome’s built-in AI is available, nothing is sent at all. Otherwise only the text you ask about goes to VERIDIC’s analysis service, which doesn’t keep it.

6.3 Will it guess a date for me?

Never. A date the document states goes onto your list. A time limit with no stated start — “three months before the end of the term” — waits under “needs a date from you” until you add it.

6.4 How does the weekly digest reach me?

It’s built on your device on the day you choose and shown in VERIDIC, with a Chrome notification if you turn those on. “Email it to me” opens your own mail app. No server holds your list of dates.

6.5 Will it tell me if a salary or a price is good?

No. It lays out what the document states — each point quoted — and which topics it doesn’t mention. Whether that’s right for you is your call.

6.6 Which languages?

16, including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese and Japanese. Words quoted from your document stay in their original language.

6.7 Does it read medical documents?

No, deliberately. Restating a dosage or a test result is interpreting it. VERIDIC recognises clinical documents and points you to the professional who gave them to you.

§7 Limitation of what VERIDIC does (yes, we have one too)

7.1 VERIDIC is a reading aid, not an advisory service. Its output is AI-generated, is not reviewed by a human, and is not legal, medical, tax, financial or immigration advice. It will not tell you whether to sign, what to declare, or what a document means for your particular situation. No licensed professional is involved, and using it creates no professional relationship.

7.2 It does not rate, score or grade anything — no risk levels, no verdicts, no view on whether wording is fair, standard or unusual. It does not draft messages for you to send or negotiate on your behalf.

7.3 It does not analyse medical or clinical documents. Where it detects one, it declines and points you to the professional who gave it to you. That refusal is enforced in the product, not merely promised here.

Act on nothing blind.
