VERIDIC — Terms of ServiceIn plain words

Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the VERIDIC Chrome extension and any web pages we operate alongside it (including the pricing and checkout pages). By installing the extension, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to them.

1. What VERIDIC is

VERIDIC is a Chrome extension that restates dense legal, academic, financial and form text in plain English, quoting the original wording alongside. It does not analyse medical or clinical documents: where it detects one it declines and says so. It is a reading and comprehension tool, not an advisory service — see section 2. It does this using an AI model — either run on our servers, or, where your browser supports it, run entirely on your own device.

2. Not professional advice

VERIDIC's output is AI-generated and has not been reviewed by a human. It is explanation, not advice. It is not a substitute for a lawyer, doctor, accountant, or other licensed professional, and using VERIDIC does not create a lawyer-client, doctor-patient, accountant-client, or any other professional relationship. No licensed professional reviews VERIDIC's output before you see it.

VERIDIC restates what a document says and quotes it. It does not, and is not built to:

VERIDIC also does not rate, score or grade documents. There is no risk level, no 0–100 verdict, no ranking of which passage matters most, and no opinion on whether wording is fair, standard or unusual. It does not draft correspondence for you to send, and it does not review or negotiate on your behalf. Those are assessments of, or assistance with, a legal document; VERIDIC restates one in plain English and stops there.

For any decision with real money, legal, medical or financial consequences attached, take the document to a qualified professional you engage yourself before you rely on VERIDIC's reading of it.

3. Accounts

Some features — anything beyond the free daily allowance, and every paid tier — require a signed-in account, held by Supabase Auth. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials to yourself and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Free tier and quotas

The free tier includes a limited number of analyses per day, described in the extension itself. We may adjust this limit, the on-device/server split, or the underlying model at any time; where a change materially reduces what the free tier offers, we will note it in the extension's changelog.

5. Paid tiers and billing

VERIDIC offers paid access through Paystack. Every paid tier is a single payment for a fixed-length pass (7, 30 or 365 days) that simply ends — there is no recurring charge, no payment method is retained to charge you again, no free trial, and nothing to cancel. Your free daily analyses are always consumed before any paid access. Buying a second pass while one is still active extends your access rather than replacing it. Card details are entered on Paystack's own hosted checkout page and are never seen by, or transmitted through, VERIDIC.

Prices shown in the extension and on our pricing page are the current prices; we may change them for future purchases, but a change never alters what you already paid for.

6. Refunds

See our Refund Policy for the specifics. In short: refund requests for a Paystack purchase are handled by us directly on request.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: attempt to circumvent quota limits or paid-tier gating; send another person's document through VERIDIC without a lawful basis for doing so; use VERIDIC to build a competing product from its output; or attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or resell access to the underlying model or prompts.

8. Availability

VERIDIC is provided as-is. We aim for the service to be available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and the AI-generated analysis may occasionally be wrong or incomplete — see Section 2. Where our servers are unreachable, the extension falls back to a lesser, on-device or offline explanation rather than failing outright; that fallback is disclosed in the extension itself.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the extension's changelog and reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use VERIDIC after a change takes effect means you accept it.
